Brian received his bachelor of science from King College in Bristol, Tennessee. He received his bachelor of medical science and master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia.
Prior to working in the orthopaedic field, Brian’s experience included emergency room medical care at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. He has been employed as a physician assistant with Appalachian Orthopaedic Associates since March 2012.
Brian has a special interest in the sport of soccer. He resides with his family in Bristol, Tennessee.
Originally from the Los Angeles area, Larry attended Cal State Northridge for his undergraduate degree in kinesiology/athletic training. He then received a master’s degree in education for sports medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia.
After working as an athletic trainer for several years in Kentucky, Larry attended the University of Kentucky’s physician assistant studies program. Professional interests include athletic injuries and rehabilitation techniques. Personal interests include movies, music, the arts, and body weight training.
Mr. Williams received his undergraduate training and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing fro East Tennessee State University. He then attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Where he obtained his Master of Science Degree.
Prior to working in the Orthopaedic Surgery field his past experience included Emergency Medicine / Critical Car. He is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners as well as the Northeast Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association.
His special interests include orthopaedic trauma / fracture care, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and assisting with various quality and performance improvement projects. Travis resides in Bluff City, Tennessee with his wife Holly.
A native of Hurley, VA, he completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and a Physician Assistant degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2002. Prior to working in orthopedics, Joe worked as a charter pilot and as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine. His personal & extracurricular interests include fly fishing and serving as an adjunct professor at a local university.
A native of Blountville, TN, He completed his undergraduate degree in nursing at King University-Bristol, TN and Masters of Science in nursing with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner at Lincoln Memorial University-Harrogate, TN. Prior to working in orthopedics He spent several years working as a Register Nurse in critical care. His personal and extracurricular activities consist of spending time with his wife and family, being active at his church, as well as any and all type of fishing.
Originally from Johnson City, David attended ETSU and then physician assistant school at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He worked several years in orthopaedic surgery in Savannah, Georgia and then returned to Johnson City, where he has been with Appalachian Orthopaedic Associates since 1988.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tim received his bachelor of science from the University of Memphis in 1987. He received his certification as an athletic trainer from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) in 1988.
During his time working as an athletic trainer, Tim treated athletes in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl in 1999. In 2004 he received his master of medical science in physician assistant studies from the University of Saint Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has been with AOA since 2004.
Tim and his wife, Cary, have one son, Brayden. They are members of First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City.
A native of Bristol, Virginia, Stacy completed both his undergraduate degree and master of science in exercise physiology from Virginia Tech. After working in the fitness industry for a few years, Stacy attended the physician assistant program at James Madison University, graduating in 2003.
Stacy worked for a number of years for a solo physician orthopaedic surgery practice in upstate New York before returning to the Tri-Cities to join AOA in August 2008. He currently lives in Jonesborough with his wife Sarah, and two children, Jake and Adeline. Stacy and his family attend Heritage Baptist Church.
Originally from Kingsport, TN, Kyle completed his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 2009. He then attended the physician assistant program at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) in Harrogate, TN, graduating in 2012.
Kyle also completed a one-year orthopaedic fellowship program with the Johnson City Medical Center orthopaedic trauma team and joined the AOA team in November 2013. He currently lives in the Johnson City area.
Originally from Johnson City, TN, Brandon completed his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in August of 2015, along with bachelor degrees in Biology and Nursing.
Certified as a Physician Assistant in August 2015, Brandon is motivated to work in a professional environment that challenges him to use his skills and critical thinking knowledge to bring better quality of life to patients’ lives.
