John H. Phillips, M.D., Physician
Dr. John Phillips received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. His residency in general and orthopaedic surgery was at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Dr. Phillips is Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Phillips served as Chief of Orthopaedic Service at Reynolds Army Community Hospital in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During this time he was deployed to serve in Tallil, Iraq. He has extensive experience in orthopaedic trauma care, upper and lower extremity surgery, joint replacements and sports injuries.
Dr. Phillips resides in Blountville, Tennessee with his wife Sarah and their dog Hogan.
Gabriel J. Hommel, M.D., Physician
A native of the Tri Cities, Dr. Gabriel Hommel received his undergraduate and medical degrees from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. His post graduate medical training consisted of an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Following residency, Dr. Hommel completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA under the direction of Dr. Champ L Baker, Jr. His published works in orthopaedic journals include “A Quantitative Analysis of Tension Band Plating of the Femur Diaphysis” and “Normal Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Knee”. Dr. Hommel is board eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Hommel has extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement, orthopaedic trauma, and general orthopaedics.
Dr. Hommel resides in Bristol, Tennessee with his wife, Jessica, and their two children.
